P3K Sidesloper™ Pumps - Section 3

The P3K series pumps are integrated design in which the motor, pump, and power cable are a singular assembly and are one impeller (stage) design. These pumps produce lower heads and high flows and are generally provided for three phase power. These pumps have a wide performance range and may be operated between "0" head conditions and near shut off or "dead head" point. A minimum flow of approximately 10 GPM should be maintained for proper motor cooling.

The P3K pumps are particularly well suited for streams with heavy silt, sand, or scaling issues. The pumps are compatible with most leachate streams and offer some special options. The oil in the mechanical seal housing may be changed annually if desired and estimated bearing life is 10,000 hours of operation.

The P3KH are slurry handling pumps and feature an auger to help feed silt and sand into the impeller. They can be used for leachate or removal and cleaning where risers have a build-up of solids and cannot be cleared using a vacuum truck.

The P3K and P3KH are available for use in 18" but 24" risers are recommended.

The "typical specifications" provided are for a standard SidesloperTMsystem and offer the best price and delivery. To complete the specifications, include the pump horsepower, flow and head ratings, phase and voltage, maximum riser length, and enclosure type (steel or stainless steel). A 2" discharge hose as specified is suitable for most applications. If required 1.5" and 3.0" discharge systems are available.

Custom system specifications, including larger pumps, primary/secondary service packages, and custom control designs are available upon request. Pumps can also be adapted to guide rail packages or vertical disconnect fittings for vertical well applications.                                                        

PUMP ASSEMBLY

 

3.01 PUMP

 

  1. The pump shall be a GunnCo SidesloperTM P3K_____ wide performance pump by GunnCo (contact Mike Gunn @ 770-889-7114) per both the project performance and
    design specifications.

  1. Pump shall be constructed of 316 stainless steel wetted parts including casing, stator housing, impeller, seal and bearing housings, fasteners, seal springs, and discharge fittings. O-Rings shall be Viton material *.

  1. Impeller shall be semi-open and capable of passing 1/4" solids, sand, and debris typical of leachate streams.

  1. Pump shall provide a flow of ____ GPM at a discharge pressure of ____’ TDH and ____ GPM @ ____’ TDH.

  1. The motor shall be a ____ Horse Power and shall operate on three-phase [230] [480] volt power, single-phase [230] volt power.

  1. Motor shall have a fixed stator operating on permanently lubricated anti-friction bearings with dual mechanical seals. Seals shall operate in an oil bath and motor shall be air filled type.

  1. Power cable shall be heavy-duty submersible type, continuous length, and sized per U.S. NEC standards. Power cable shall be a minimum of 50' long.

  1. A stainless steel lifting cable shall be provided with each pump. Cable shall be ¼” stainless steel, 7X19 strand construction, rated a minimum breaking strength of 6,400 pounds and shall be equipped with necessary clips with a removable link connector at the pump and a snap hook at the upper end with a properly sized eye bolt to serve as and anchor for the snap hook. Cable length shall be 20’ and shall be adjusted to the required well depth to minimize slack and facilitate lifting.

  • Pumps available in cast iron parts w/ Buna O ring where required.

PUMP ASSEMBLY

3.01 PUMP

  1. The pump shall be a GunnCo SidesloperTM P3KH_____ pump by GunnCo (770-889-7114) per both the project performance and design specifications.

  1. Pump shall be constructed of chrome iron impeller and wear plate with hardened Ductile iron volute and inlet agitator. Outer casing and motor housing shall be 304 stainless steel.

  1. Impeller shall be semi-open and capable of passing 1/4" solids, sand, and debris typical of leachate streams. Agitator shall help feed sand, silt, and light slurries into the pump impeller inlet.

  1. Pump shall provide a flow of ____ GPM at a discharge pressure of ____’ TDH and ____ GPM @ ____’ TDH.

  1. The motor shall be a ___ Horse Power and shall operate on three-phase [230] [480] volt power.

  1. Motor shall have a fixed stator operating on permanently lubricated anti-friction bearings with dual mechanical with SiC vs.Sic lower and Carbon/Carbon upper mechanical seals. Motor shall be air filled type with Class F insulation.

  1. Power cable shall be heavy-duty submersible type, continuous length, and sized per U.S. NEC standards. Power cable shall be a minimum of ___' long.

  1. A stainless steel lifting cable shall be provided with each pump. Cable shall be ¼” stainless steel, 7x19 strand construction, rated a minimum breaking strength of 6,400 pounds and shall be equipped with necessary clips with a removable link connector at the pump and a snap hook at the upper end with a properly sized eye bolt to serve as an anchor for the snap hook. Sidesloper

Sidesloper™ pumps are designed for use in side slope riser applications or may be provided without wheels for use in vertical sump applications where cooling or lower inlet screens are required.
